Chotrul Duchen Celebration

Chotrul Duchen occurs every year on the 15th day (full moon) of the first Tibetan month and is known as the “Great Celebration of Miraculous Manifestations.” This day commemorates the Buddha’s display of miracles in order to increase devotion and merit in his disciples and subdue heretics, and is one of the four main holidays of the year commemorating the life and activities of Buddha Shakyamuni. It is considered so auspicious that any merit accumulated on this day is said to multiply many millions of times.
