His Holiness Penor Rinpoche's Paranirvana

His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, the 11th Throneholder of the Palyul Lineage of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, entered the final stage of meditation at 8:20 PM on Friday, March 27, 2009. On April 3, he left his meditation and his body was brought in procession to Zangdokpalri Temple on April 9. His Holiness has lived a life dedicated to benefiting beings and will always remain in our hearts. We pray with devotion that he will continue to enact compassionate activity in this world through his swift rebirth. You can download a recording Khenpo Norgey's teaching on the swift rebirth prayer of His Holiness here.

Teachings on the Chod Shadana with Khenpo Tenzin Norgay
By training its practitioners to relinquish and offer their own body, the Vajrayana sadhana of Chöd provides a unique method for severing the “inner demon” of ego clinging, along with its erroneous dualistic concepts and perceptions. In effect, the sadhana of Chöd, which is also known as Laughter of the Dakinis, offers its practitioners a path for the swift attainment of full liberation from all delusions. In this three-part series of teachings, Khenpo Norgay Rinpoche will lead us through a deeper understanding of the Chöd practice text and its rituals.
