Welcome!

The Nyingma Palyul Dharma Center serves as the practice center for students of the Palyul tradition in the New York City metropolitan area, as well as visitors to the city from around the world. Established in 2005 by Khenchen Tsewang Gyatso Rinpoche and Khenpo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche in accordance with the wishes of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, the Nyingma Palyul Dharma Center also hosts talks for the general public and teachings and empowerments from the Palyul tradition at a number of venues in New York City. It is our aim to continue to serve the community of Palyul practioners and others with the immeasurable legacy we have inherited from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche.

The center maintains an ongoing practice schedule that meets two times per week, offers pujas on Guru Rinpoche Day and Dakini Day every month, and celebrates the four major Buddhist holidays annually, all of which are free events open to the general public. The program of sadhanas includes Guru Yoga and Chöd on Mondays, and Riwo Sangchöd, Vajrakilaya, and Green Tara on Sundays.*

Khenpo Tenzin Norgay Rinpoche and lamas from the Palyul Lineage are frequently in attendance to lead the center’s practice sessions.

* Please note: Our group practices have been temporarily suspended until we secure a new location. If you are not already on our email list, please sign up now so we can notify you of our new address and practice times—just as soon as we are settled!

Contract Signed for New Dharma Center!

Dear Dharma Friends,

I am very happy to announce that our dream of having a center has finally come true with the blessings of H.H. Penor Rinpoche and your sincere support and hard work. We have signed the contract to purchase a church in Queens located at 23-11 98th Street, East Elmhurst, NY 11369. We are buying the church at $790,000, and estimate the total cost after renovations and redesign will be about $1,000,000.

Up to now we have received $600,000 in individual donations, which includes some large amounts from generous donors who wish to remain anonymous. To fulfill our wish, we still need about $400,000. I request all of our dharma friends who made pledges earlier to make your contribution as soon as possible, before the closing dates, which is about a month from now.

Thank you
Yours in Dharma
Khenpo Tenzin Norgay

Fundraising Update and Membership Program

hhpr-yangsi

Over the past several months we all have been working to raise funds to establish a Palyul dharma center in New York City, where visiting lamas can be hosted and the Palyul Sadhanas practiced regularly. Our fundraising dinner in August was a tremendous success, and combined with many individual donations, we are much closer to reaching our goal of obtaining a new space.

In order to generate the income needed to pay for the center, we have been instructed by H.H. Karma Kuchen Rinpoche to initiate a membership program. Please take a moment to read the letter below.

To join online, click here. Online payments are entered and processed on a secure site. You may also fill out and mail back the donation form below.

If you would like to pledge a different amount each month than listed on the online membership form, please contact Karma Dorjee at (917) 519-4576 / kardor5504@gmail.com or Andre Leith at (410) 952-7803 / andre.leith@gmail.com.

Together we can bring H.H. Penor Rinpoche’s vision to life.
