HIS HOLINESS PENOR RINPOCHE'S PARANIRVANA

His Holiness Penor Rinpoche

His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, the 11th Throneholder of the Palyul Lineage of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, entered the final stage of meditation at 8:20 PM on Friday, March 27, 2009. On April 3, he left his meditation and his body was brought in procession to Zangdokpalri Temple on April 9.

His Holiness has lived a life dedicated to benefiting beings and will always remain in our hearts. We pray with devotion that he will continue to enact compassionate activity in this world through his swift rebirth.

You can download a recording Khenpo Norgey's teaching on the swift rebirth prayer of His Holiness here.

A Weekend of Teachings with Khenpo Norgey On the Adornment for Nagarjuna's Thought by Gendun Chopel

Saturday & Sunday, January 23 - 24
10 AM - Noon | 1:30 - 3 PM

The Adornment for Nagarjuna's Thought is a deeply engrossing work of "Middle Way" philosophy, an essential feature of Mahayana Buddhism, which emphasizes the use of reason as a means for discerning truth - the truth of the ultimate nature of all phenomena. While some traditional Buddhist scholars view the Adornment as a rude, heretical work, others admire its innovative, sometimes ironic style for effectively expressing the Buddhist concept of emptiness. The work is firmly grounded in the logic and profound wisdom of the Mahayana, and is said to have a special appeal for contemporary students of dharma.
